POSITIVE NOTES

Responsible for nearly a third of global warming and a quarter of global energy, methane emissions are hitting the headlines. New methane regulations for emissions detection and reduction are coming into effect, driving a positive tailwind for solutions in this space. Windfall Bio aims to transform methane into nitrogen-rich organic soil ingredients via naturally occurring methane-eating microbes. They have created a proprietary bacterial consortium IP-protected with both composition and method-of-use patent claims.

Because methane comes from different sources, the solution can take many different forms: pilot manure, cow, rice field, and compost pile. So far, corporate interest has been extremely strong: Windfall Bio is engaging with companies in different sectors with multiple MOUs signed to date. Additionally, they have developed a pilot project with a big O&G company, which is a huge potential client.
